A 15-year-old boy charged with preparing an act of terrorism has appeared in court.
The teenager, from Leeds, is accused of researching and buying items, including knives and bomb parts, between January and March for an alleged terror attack.
He allegedly placed orders for knives five times and received a machete, a court heard.
The suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with engaging in the preparation of terrorist acts after his arrest by officers on Saturday.
At Westminster Magistrates' Court today the young boy spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a brief appearance via video-link before chief magistrate Paul Goldspring.
His solicitor entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
The terror suspect, who is set to appear at the Old Bailey on 25 March, will be remanded in custody.
