The mother of a woman who has been missing for six weeks has begged anyone with information to come forward.

Mum Sylvia Jenkins said: "I am begging people to come forward. Someone knows what has happened to Natalie and if they come forward to tell police, I would help them.

"We will never stop looking for Natalie and this is never going to go away.

"I am asking for people to contact police if they have seen or heard anything that will bring my beautiful daughter home to me."

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Dimelow said her disappearance is being treated as suspected murder.

Cleveland Police released new footage of her walking along Parliament Road, Middlesbrough, at about 7.55pm on 10 December.

Mr Dimelow said Ms Jenkins may have been at home in Thornaby, Teesside, the next day but this is unconfirmed. He said she is particularly vulnerable as a drug user and sex worker.

However, the force is not linking her case to that of Naheed Khan, who is also missing from Thornaby. She too is presumed murdered.

Mr Dimelow's team is looking through 1,000 hours of CCTV footage and has distributed posters and leaflets, and spoken to hundreds of people.

He said: "Natalie has not been in touch with her family or friends, which is highly unusual.

"She has no access to a bank account, does not have a passport, and had a number of phones over a short period of time which were regularly lost or broken.

"Whilst there is no specific evidence that a crime has been committed, there is no proof of life and in my professional judgement I believe that she has come to serious harm.

"As a result I have classified the case as one of suspected murder and have launched a murder investigation."

When she first went missing, her family released a statement in which they said: "Natalie, I don't know what went so wrong to make you leave your home and all your things. All is not lost, Natalie. You have been offered a ground floor flat which you have always wanted.

"You are doing so well, and all of this can be sorted out. Just ring us and we can start again.

"Natalie, you are not alone, you are loved. Whatever has gone wrong, we can put it right. All you need to do is ring your mam and dad."

Ms Jenkins is described as white, of slim build, 5ft 5in with fair skin and straight brown hair. She has a tattoo saying "Swann" on her neck and one saying "Swanny" on her wrist.
