Derbyshire: Toddler dies after being found in paddling pool in Somercotes

A toddler has died after being found in a paddling pool in Derbyshire, police have said.
The boy, who was 23 months old, was found "unresponsive" at an address in Nottingham Road in the village of Somercotes on Wednesday, according to Derbyshire Constabulary.
Paramedics were called to the scene just before 1.30pm and the boy was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Derby Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after, the force said.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this most difficult of times," it added.
"Officers are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances around the incident on behalf of the coroner."
