Theresa May and Donald Trump will meet for talks at the World Economic Forum in Davos next week, Downing Street said.
The Prime Minister and the US President will hold a bilateral meeting in the margins of the Swiss summit, which begins on Tuesday.
Downing Street and the White House made the announcement just a day after reports that Mr Trump was set to snub the PM at the event.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the President was looking forward to meeting Mrs May "to further strengthen the US-UK special relationship".
It comes after Mr Trump cancelled a planned trip to London to celebrate the opening of the new US embassy, complaining about its cost and location.
Their meeting also follows Mr Trump's criticism of Mrs May when Downing Street condemned him for retweeting videos by the far-right group Britain First.
In a tweet to the PM, Mr Trump wrote: "Don't focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!"
Mrs May later said that she was "very clear that re-tweeting from Britain First was the wrong thing to do".
Mr Trump is expected to use his appearance in Davos to promote his America First strategy at an event associated with the rise of globalisation.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron are on the long list of world and business leaders also attending.
Mr Trump will be the first sitting US president to attend the summit in person since Bill Clinton in 2000.
