England fly-half Owen聽Farrell聽is to join Racing 92, the French rugby club has announced.

The 32-year-old will leave Saracens after 15 seasons after agreeing a two-year contract.

Farrell will be ineligible for selection for England as a result due to Rugby Football Union (RFU) rules - which forbid members of the national squad from playing abroad.

However, it comes after Farrell announced last year that he was taking a break from international rugby to prioritise the "mental well-being" of himself and his family.

The former England captain had already been set to miss the upcoming Six Nations, which gets underway in February.

Racing 29 are coached by former England boss Stuart Lancaster, who gave Farrell his Test debut in 2012.

"The English international player is committed to two sporting seasons and will join the Ciel et Blanc squad from 1 July, 2024."
