Game of Thrones couple Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have announced their engagement.
The two stars played each other's love interests, Jon Snow and wildling Ygritte, in Sky Atlantic's hit TV show.
Both Harington and Leslie are 30 years old and, according to Harington, they fell in love while shooting the second season of the series in Iceland.
"Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," he told Vogue last year, when their relationship was made public.
"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it's becomes very easy to fall in love," he added.
The engagement was announced in the Forthcoming Nuptials section of The Times newspaper.
"The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire," it says.
Reactions on social media have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans praising Harington for "finally bending the knee" - in a reference to his character's reluctance to do so in the show.
"Ahhhh!!!!! Guess Jon Snow DID know a thing or two!!!," one user wrote, in another reference to one of the show's most famous quotes: "You know nothing, Jon Snow."
"I hope their real life relationship goes better than the TV one," said another.
In the show, their relationship had a rather unhappy ending, with Ygritte dying in Jon's arms.
But even after they stopped being a couple on screen, rumours of their off-screen relationship persisted until Harington finally confirmed them last year.
In an interview with Esquire, the actor said he wasn't trying to be coy about their relationship, but "it's as much her relationship as it is mine and I can't speak for both of us".
"But yeah, we are very, very happy," he said.
"So that's what I'll say about that."
