Four people have been shot dead at a hospital campus in Oklahoma.
Tulsa Police also said there had been "multiple injuries" in the shooting at the St Francis hospital campus in Tulsa, and officers were still in the process of clearing the building.
The gunman is believed to have died from a "self-inflicted gunshot wound".
The shooting had lasted four to five minutes and the suspect, a black man about 35 to 40 years old, used a long rifle and a handgun.
Captain Richard Meulenberg told ABC that police were phoned about a man with a rifle on the second floor of the Natalie Medical Building, which "turned into an active shooter situation".
He said that when officers arrived on the scene, they found a few people who had been shot.
"A couple were dead at that point," he said.
Mr Meulenberg said one of the victims died "after leaving the scene to try to get medical aid".
So far, police have no reason to believe the gunman was targeting a specific person.
White House 'monitoring' the situation
In a post on Facebook just before 6pm (12am UK time), police said officers were "going through every room in the building checking for additional threats".
St Francis Health System locked down its campus on Wednesday afternoon because of the situation at the Natalie Medical Building, which houses an outpatient surgery centre and a breast health centre.
First responders were seen wheeling someone on a stretcher away from the building in aerial footage from a TV helicopter.

US President Joe Biden has been briefed on the shooting and the White House said it is "closely monitoring the situation", having reached out to state and local officials to offer support.
Traffic was shut down outside the complex, with dozens of police cars on the scene.
A reunification centre was set up at a high school nearby to help families find their loved ones.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were on site, a spokesperson said.
The shooting comes eight days after 19 children and two teachers were killed by a gunman in Uvalde, Texas, prompting calls for tougher gun regulation in the US.
