The computer network used by Hillary Clinton's campaign for the US presidency has been hacked along with other parts of the Democrats' organisation, according to Reuters.

It follows other breaches of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the party's fundraising committee for House candidates.

The Department of Justice's national security division is said to be investigating whether the attacks threatened US security.

Reuters said the division's involvement was a sign that the Obama administration had concerns that the hacking may have been state-sponsored.

Trump In Security Risk Row

Earlier this week Mrs Clinton's rival for the White House, , was described as a national security risk after apparently encouraging the Russians to spy on government emails.

It has been alleged that Russian intelligence agencies were responsible for hacking the DNC's servers.

Thousands of emails uploaded to Wikileaks appeared to confirm the DNC favoured Democratic Party nominee Mrs Clinton over her rival Bernie Sanders - something that resulted in the resignation of the committee's boss Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

In Just Weeks America Must Decide: Clinton Or Trump?

A second batch of data - audio recordings from DNC emails - was released by Wikileaks late on Wednesday.

During a press conference in Florida, Mr Trump said: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing.

"I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press."

The Clinton campaign did not offer a comment on its own server apparently being hacked.

The Department of Justice did not comment either.

Meanwhile an opinion poll published on Friday gave Hillary Clinton a six point lead over Mr Trump.

The survey for Reuters / Ipsos suggested that 41% of likely voters favoured Mrs Clinton, with 35% backing Mr Trump, and 25% picking "other".

The online poll was carried out between 25 and 29 July while the Democratic National Convention was being held in Philadelphia.
