iPhone leaks: What we know about the new devices

Apple is expected to release three new iPhone models this year and leaks from people who have seen the devices have begun to circulate online.
When the company launched the iPhone X in 2017 it was a headline event. From its name, X - as in the roman numeral for 10 - to its edge-to-edge display design, the smartphone was a big deal.
But Apple's new releases since then have failed to capture as much excitement.
Last year's iPhone XR, XS and XS Max were deemed not enormous developments on what had come before.
They seemed to be product lines designed specifically to target different market segments, whereas Apple had historically had the power to create market segments when it launched something new.
But according to leaks published by those market segments are remaining pretty unchanged.
The company's flagship device, the iPhone XS, has a 5.8" display as measured from corner-to-corner and is retailing for £999.
The larger version in the 6.5" XS Max costs £1,099 - and a budget edition iPhone, the 6.1" XR is retailing for £748.
According to leaks there will be three new iPhones this year in much the same mould - a 5.8" smaller flagship device, a 6.5" larger device, and a 6.1" budget device.
There will be an immediately obvious distinction between the previous generation of iPhones and the new devices - the square-shaped housing for the rear camera.
Apple's developments on camera technology have historically lagged significantly behind that of rivals including Samsung and Huawei.
The company has addressed this by introducing software to help improve its users' snaps, and this isn't entirely disappearing according to the leaks.
But there will be some new hardware too with a wide-angle lens complimenting the others in the new iPhones' square camera housing.
A new "Smart Frame" feature has been rumoured to be part of the software for iOS 13 which will bring in additional imagery using the wide-angle camera when users take a photograph.
If their photo is poorly cropped or has missed a significant framing detail such as the top of someone's head or the AG百家乐在线官网line then the image could potentially be adjusted after it has been taken.
An upgrade to the front-facing or selfie camera has been suggested too which will allow users record slow motion video of 120 frames per second (fps).
This follows the improvements made to the iPhone XS's rear camera last year with a 240fps slow motion recording capability in standard HD, or 120fps in Full HD.
Because of the changes to iOS 13 the next generation iPhones are shipping with an improved Taptic Engine - Apple's haptic feedback device which uses vibrating motors to provide physical feedback.
Rumours that the company would be moving away from the lightning port of USB-C, the connection favoured by most other smartphone makers, have been shot down, despite the inclusion of USB-C on the iPad Pro.
