Until then, here's a breakdown of what's been happening over the last 24 hours as the ceasefire between Iran and Israel entered its fourth day:

• Hundreds of thousands of mourners filled the streets in Tehran today to commemorate senior military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians killed in Israeli strikes;
• Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, acknowledged the loss of lives was "hard and painful" but pledged the nation would return to "new glory";
• Among the top military officials buried was Hossein Salami, who had served as head of the secretive Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and was one of the most powerful men in Iran at the time of his death;
• Elsewhere, health staff in Gaza say at least 72 people were killed across the enclave by the latest round of Israeli strikes;
• While in Washington, the Senate blocked a resolution that would have forced Donald Trump to seek congressional approve for any further military action in Iran.

Thousands turned out in Tehran today for the state funerals of top Iranian generals, nuclear scientists and civilians killed during Iran's 12-day conflict with Israel.

A Hezbollah commander was killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon earlier today, the military says. 

According to the IDF, Hassan Mohammad Hamoudi was the commander of Hezbollah's anti-tank missile unit in the Bint Jbeil area. 

Hamoudi was responsible for leading "numerous anti-tank missile attacks on Israel," the military adds.

A bit of news to catch you up on from Washington now.

The Republican-controlled Senate has blocked a Democratic-led bid to curb Donald Trump's powers to intervene in the Middle East.

Had it passed, the resolution would have required Trump to gain congressional approval for further US hostilities against Iran.

The resolution was rejected in a 53-47 vote just hours after Trump said that he wouldn't rule out attacking Iran's nuclear sites again if he deemed it necessary at some point.

"Sure, without question, absolutely," he said.

Iran's foreign minister has said the loss of lives is "hard and painful" as he attends the funeral procession in Tehran today.

Abbas Araghchi said their "memory lives on" after he was pictured at the funeral, leaning on a casket - see our 13.52 post.

Seemingly hinting at the destruction Iran has suffered at the hands of the US and Israel, he added: "Institutions and structures, however important and valuable, return with new glory and greater strength over time, even if it takes years."

Iran's president has thanked people for turning up for the funeral procession in Tehran today.

The occasion marked the deaths of top Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists.

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you dear people,"  Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on social media.

" With love, you bid farewell to the martyrs of our homeland, and our voice of unity reached the ears of the world."

He added that "serving such a free-spirited nation is the honour of my life".

We brought you the news earlier that almost 50 people have been killed in Gaza following Israeli strikes. That figure has now risen again to 60.

The strikes, which began late last night and continued into this morning, came as Donald Trump said there could be a ceasefire agreement within the next week.

The "most existential threat" to Israel doesn't come from Iran, but "from within," Israeli opposition leader Yair Golan says.

His comments come after the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said its soldiers were attacked by Israeli civilians overnight in the village of Kafr Malik, north of Jerusalem.

Golan alleged these people were settlers, and claimed they used "severe violence" against IDF troops.

"It may not make the headlines, but the most serious existential threat to the State of Israel does not come from Iran or Yemen. It comes from within," he said, adding that Israel "stands at a crossroads".

Golan says violence against innocents and IDF soldiers is not "not a fringe phenomenon," but a "dangerous current that has taken a deep hold, even around the government鈥檚 table."

Six arrested after attack

The Israeli army said in a statement that its soldiers were sent to disperse a gathering of Israeli civilians in an area designated as a closed military zone near the village of Kafr Malik. 

It said the group "hurled stones" at soldiers upon their arrival, physically and verbally assaulting them, vandalised and damage their vehicles and attempted to "ram" their convoy.

It added that six people were arrested.

Iran is now allowing international flights over central and western parts of the country, state media is reporting.

State-run Nour News reported on the development.

Since the fighting broke out between Israel and Iran, commercial flights have avoided the airspace.

Two days ago, Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, said the country had reopened its airspace for the eastern half of the country.

Here are some of the latest pictures from Tehran, where huge crowds have turned out to mourn Iranian military commanders and scientists killed in the country's 12-day war with Israel.

State media claimed more than one million people turned out for the funeral procession. The Associated Press news agency reported hundreds of thousands of people turned up.

The dense crowd packed the main thoroughfare in Tehran, along the entire nearly three-mile (4.5km) route.

Top officials among the mourners included Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, who crouched next to one of the coffins seemingly in tears.
