State media in Iran said the main target was an adjacent IDF headquarters.

David Lammy to attend nuclear talks with Iran

David Lammy, the UK foreign secretary, will attend nuclear talks with Iran and his European counterparts.

Our deputy political editor Sam Coates has confirmed the news that ministers from Germany, France and Britain will meet with Iranian officials in Geneva tomorrow.

They will first meet with the EU's top diplomat Kaja Kallas before holding a joint meeting with the Iranian foreign minister.

The joint European push comes amid fears of spiralling fighting in the Middle East.

The goal of the talks, which a German source said is taking place in coordination with the US, is to persuade Iran to guarantee its nuclear programme isn't weaponised.

Israeli hospital hit with 'ballistic missile' as 40 injured

Israel says the Soroka Hospital in the south of the country was hit with a ballistic missile.

Two people are seriously injured and around 40 wounded, according to Israeli emergency services.

Iran state media says its main targets were an IDF command and intelligence headquarters next to the hospital.

Israel's deputy foreign minister shared a video of inside the hospital in southern Israel and the destruction there.

Israeli hospital suffers 'extensive damage'

The Israeli hospital hit by an Iranian strike has suffered "extensive damage", officials are saying.

The Soroka Hospital is the main hospital in Israel's south and sustained a "direct hit" this morning.

A spokesperson for the centre in Beersheba said the hospital was badly damaged in different areas and people had been injured.

The hospital requested that people not come in for treatment.

Israel strikes heavy water reactor after evacuation demands

Israel has attacked an Iranian heavy water reactor after demanding that people nearby evacuate, state media and broadcasters say.

The Israeli military said it targeted the Arak heavy water reactor facility, which is roughly 400km west of Tehran, in the west of the country.

Iranian officials said the facility was not properly evacuated by the time of the attack, ISNA agency reports.

There were some conflicting reports, with others saying everyone had got out ahead of the strikes.

It marks the latest in the Israeli efforts to dismantle Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

But reports said there was "no radiation danger whatsoever".

Earlier this morning, Israel warned it would attack the facility and urged the public to flee.

Hospital struck in southern Israel after Iranian missile attack

A hospital in southern Israel has been hit after Iranian missile strikes this morning, Israeli media reports - though the location has not been named.

It was one of a number of attacks, with reports other areas have also been targeted.

According to a military official, several population centres, including the hospital, were hit after dozens of missiles were launched.

Rescuers said an Iranian missile landed a "direct hit" on a medical building.

Both state media in Tehran and the Israel Defence Forces commented on the attack.

The IDF said: "Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat."

It isn't clear where all the attacks have taken place.

Welcome back to our live coverage

Good morning and welcome back to our live coverage of the conflict between Israel and Iran.

Overnight, back-and-forth strikes between the two nations continued as fighting entered its seventh day.

The Israel Defence Forces conducted a series of strikes on the capital Tehran and beyond.

Israel also issued evacuation orders for people living near Iran's Arak heavy water reactor.

It comes after Iran's supreme leader rejected US calls to surrender yesterday and warned any US involvement would cause "irreparable damage to them."

Meanwhile, in Washington, Donald Trump discussed striking Iran, saying: "I may do it. I may not do it."

He also claimed Tehran was weeks away from a nuclear weapon before holding a meeting on the conflict in the Situation Room.

Iran continued to launch a wave of attacks on Israel, with explosions reported over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Israeli media reported at least four impact sites after the strikes.

Iran's state media also reported that missiles were launched towards Israel.

In the UK, Sir Keir Starmer chaired a COBRA emergency meeting on the situation in the Middle East yesterday afternoon

And while the world's focus has switched to the fighting with Iran, Palestinians continued to be killed in Gaza, with at least 140 people being killed by Israel yesterday, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
