A solitary sailor was saved from his sinking yacht when a lifeboat volunteer detected his faint calls for help.
The sailor had managed to overturn his yacht, which had capsized around a mile and a half from Eyemouth Harbour in the Scottish Borders.
He got back on board the vessel but was unable to stop the water from seeping in and grew increasingly cold.
His radio malfunctioned due to exposure to water, leaving him struggling to call for help.
But RNLI's Andrew Jamieson, the coxswain of the Eyemouth lifeboat, heard the sailor's muffled cries for help over the radio and launched the lifeboat shortly after 2.15pm on Tuesday.
The crew swiftly located the sailor and brought him on to the all-weather lifeboat named Helen Hastings in the successful rescue operation.

He received immediate medical attention at the Eyemouth lifeboat station before being handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Meanwhile, the St Abbs independent lifeboat towed the sailor's imperilled yacht back to the town it had embarked from, allowing it to be saved.
