A 29-year-old man has been charged following the murder of three men in London last weekend, while another remains in police custody.
Gurjeet Singh, of South Park Crescent in Ilford, has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and will appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court later on Wednesday.
Singh remains under investigation over the murders, as does a 39-year-old man who was also arrested over the incident.
A fight between groups of Sikh and Hindu men in Ilford, east London, on Sunday evening escalated into a fatal clash, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in Elmstead Road, Seven Kings, at 7.38pm and three men, aged 29, 30 and 38, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives do not believe the incident was gang or terror-related, but are continuing enquiries.
The force added it is not looking for any one else in connection with the incident at this stage.
Jas Athwal, leader of Redbridge Council, previously said he believes the incident to be isolated, calling it "unheard of" in the local Sikh community.
So far in 2020 there have been six homicides in the capital. Last year there were 149, a rise from 133 in 2018, despite a drop nationally.
