A mother has been charged with the murder of her baby boy.
Mariam Benzain, 31, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday charged with murdering her son Elias Biad, five months, on 22 July.
Emergency services were called to a property in Harrow, northwest London at 9.51am that day to reports of an injured child.
Elias was pronounced dead at the scene and his mother was arrested and subsequently charged with murder.
A post-mortem examination at St Thomas' Hospital on 27 July gave a preliminary cause of death as an "incised wound".
Benzain was remanded in custody ahead of her next court hearing, which is yet to be arranged.
