The rider was killed on the A3 near Putney Heath in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 4x4 failed to stop for police at around 12.30pm, sparking a chase before it hit the motorbike which overturned, said the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

"Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, the rider sadly died at the scene."

The force added the driver of the Range Rover has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, causing death by dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving under the influence of drugs.
