Pair arrested after man, 81, seriously hurt in Manchester hit-and-run
A man and woman, in their twenties, have been arrested as the pensioner remains fighting for his life in hospital.

An 81-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crashed into him and then sped off.
A man, 24, and a woman, 26, are being questioned after the pensioner was hit and abandoned just before 9pm on Wednesday.
The collision happened on Ashton New Road in Clayton, Manchester.
The pair were taken into police custody after officers traced them to a property in the Moston area of Manchester on Saturday night.
The man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop and report a collision.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and obstructing a constable.
Both are also accused of allegedly perverting the course of justice.
