A woman has appeared in court accused of murder after the body of a teenager was found in an attic in Enfield.

Police have said the badly decomposed body was that of Abdi Ali, 18, who was last seen at home following a family wedding in December.

His body was found on Monday.

He had suffered a blunt force trauma to the head and stab wounds to the chest, a post-mortem examination showed.

Stacey Docharty, 28, and Gary Hopkins, 36, have both been charged with murder, as well as perverting the course of justice and preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

The alleged murder is said to have taken place shortly after Mr Ali was last seen, about eight months ago.

Mr Ali was reported missing to police on 31 December.

Hopkins will appear at the same court by video link on Monday.

Judge Anne Molyneux said the pair, both of Hartmoor Mews, face a two to three-week trial, beginning on 25 February.

They will appear at the same court for a plea hearing on 23 November.

Both remain in custody.
