Porthleven cliff plunge: Three teenagers suffer life-threatening injuries after 70ft fall

Three teenagers are in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after plunging 70ft from cliffs on to a beach in Cornwall.
Despite his wounds, one of the three managed to call the Coastguard to request help at Parc Trammel Cove, near the town of Porthleven, at just after midnight on Sunday.
He was able to provide their location by using the torch on his phone.
Emergency services including Coastguard teams, an RNLI lifeboat, paramedics and police descended on the scene to aid the injured trio, one aged 18 and two aged 19, who were airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Their families have been informed of the incident, which left each of the men with multiple serious injuries, which have been described as potentially life-threatening or life-changing.
Martin Leslie, coastal operations area commander, said the Coastguard helicopter crew that transferred them to the air ambulance had shown "outstanding skills" to get to the scene and rescue the men.
Police are investigating what happened to the men and are appealing for information.
The incident happened close to the site of a festival called The Masked Ball and held on the clifftop site of Beacon Crag, overlooking Mount's Bay.
The festival said they were aware of it and "determining further details surrounding the incident with the relevant authorities".
Inspector Matt Setchell said: "Initial inquiries suggest that the men have fallen around 70ft from the cliffs into the cove below. We are continuing to carry out inquiries to establish how they came to be on the cliff and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"All three males were airlifted to hospital where they remain in a serious condition. Our thoughts are with the three men and their families and friends at this difficult time.
"At this point, we're appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident and anyone with any relevant information to contact police."
