Prince William stunned guests at the Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace last night when he performed a duet with Jon Bon Jovi.
Along with pop star Taylor Swift, the Duke leant in to the mic and bellowed the chorus to Bon Jovi's hit Livin' On A Prayer.
William became the real life Prince of Pop after the US rock star invited him on stage half-way through the song.
The Duchess of Cambridge did not attend the star-studded dinner and concert at Kensington Palace.
With a price-tag of £60,000 per table, the Gala is expected to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for Prince William's patronage Centrepoint, which to date has helped 95,000 young homeless people get back on their feet.
Members of the public were also able to get hold of a limited number of tickets with a £500 price tag.
Jon Bon Jovi told Sky News: "This is a great event and everyone's so pleased to be here for a cause that really matters.
"Centrepoint and the JBJ Soul Foundation have hooked up with similar goals and I'm being honoured with an award tonight from Prince William, which I'm very proud of."
On stage before performing Written In The Stars, Tinie Tempah told Prince William this was all a "little bit like MTV Cribs", referring to performing at the Duke's house.
In his second song the rap artist gave a special mention to Prince Harry in his lyrics: ".... felt naked, just like Prince Harry did in Vegas."
But it was the two American artists who brought the Palace down.
"This is my first time playing at the Palace or any palace for that matter and I have to thank Prince William," Swift said.
Talking about the reason everyone was gathered for the Gala, on stage Swift added: "It is hard enough being in your late teens or early 20s in any circumstances, then the fact that so many kids struggle with so much more.
"When I was 15 and I was rejected or was lonely - which was quite a lot - I just wrote a song and called it 15."
In a sleeveless white dress the 23-year-old former girlfriend of One Direction star Harry Styles carefully dodged questions about her love life but seemed to struggle understanding some she was asked.
"I love your accent, but I just don't know what you're saying", she told The Times Royal Correspondent Valentine Low, who asked in a plummy accent how she felt about performing at a palace.
After repeating the question more slowly, Swift replied she was "delighted and loved the romantic nature" of Kensington Palace.
