Robert Yuill murder: Suspect charged over death of man in Lanark

Robert Yuill, 33, was found unconscious in Smyllum Road, Lanark, at around 9.45am on Saturday. Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect has been charged by police investigating the murder of a man who died after being found unconscious in a South Lanarkshire street.

Robert Yuill, 33, was found injured in Smyllum Road, Lanark, at around 9.45am on Saturday.

Emergency services attended but Mr Yuill, also known as Robbie and from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder inquiry was subsequently launched by Police Scotland and an online portal was set up for members of the public to submit any information.

On Friday, Police Scotland said a 44-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Yuill's death.

The suspect is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
