A man has been arrested after a police officer was聽left with serious injuries in a crash involving a stolen car.
Greater Manchester Police patrols spotted a vehicle, which had been reported as stolen, driving around the Pendleton area of Salford at around 9.30pm on Friday evening.
The car failed to stop and a short time later it was involved in a collision with a second police car.
Photos from the scene show the police BMW in a ditch close to the A6 Pendleton roundabout, with its front end smashed up and both airbags activated.
It appears to have rolled down a hill before being brought to a halt by a fence.
One officer was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according Greater Manchester Police.
