In his early days of writing raps, Snoop Dogg borrowed a typewriter to get his lyrics down.
The US rapper revealed his unlikely writing instrument on an episode of .
He told the hosts he used to borrow a typewriter from 2Scoops of G-funk group The Dove Shack.
Snoop Dogg said he had tried getting his words down on paper, but "I would lose my s***".
Noticing 2Scoops was "organised and s***", he concluded he was "just gonna type my s*** up".
He added: "I used to type like 65 words a minute."
His revelation provoked laughter and disbelief from the hosts, with one questioning "Snoop, you wrote raps on a typewriter?" and another commenting "That’s hilarious".
Snoop Dogg said he learned to type "at a little white junior high school I went to".
"I was one of them students that - I took a wood class, a metal class, I took typing, I took home economics. I took classes that was like different.
"I didn't just want to be in the class with the homies and s*** and then go home and get a whooping and get in trouble."
Snoop Dogg's appearance on the show follows the release of Mount Westmore's latest album, Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort. The group is comprised of hip-hop veterans Too $hort, E-40, and Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.
Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr, revealed he had given his full-time blunt roller a pay rise due to inflation.
