Sophia Kelemen: Man in court over baby's death after she was hit by car

The six-month-old died after the collision on the ground floor of a multi-storey car park in Tenby, Pembrokeshire.

A man has appeared in court over the death of a baby who died after she was hit by a car.

Six-month-old Sophia Kelemen, from Leigh, died after the collision in a multi-storey car park in the coastal town of Tenby, Pembrokeshire, on 2 January.

She was hit on the ground floor of the car park and died the following day in hospital.

Flaviu Naghi, 33, from Greater Manchester, appeared at Swansea Crown Court via video link from prison on Friday.

Naghi has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.

He spoke only to confirm his name and did not enter any pleas.

An inquest opened at Pembrokeshire Coroner's Court last month heard Sophia died of an "intracranial haemorrhage" caused by a road traffic collision.

Judge Catherine Richards adjourned the case until 21 March, when the defendant is next due to appear in court.
