Teenager arrested after man, 20, dies amid spate of London stabbings

A teenager has been arrested after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in southeast London amid a spate of stabbings in the capital.

The victim was found with a stab wound to his chest after police were called to reports of a fight in a street in Bexley on Sunday afternoon.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he died later. A 17-year-old has been arrested and remains in custody.

The incident was one of several stabbings reported in London over the weekend.

A teenage boy and a man were stabbed in separate incidents in Tottenham, north London, on Sunday night.

Both victims were taken to hospital but their conditions are not known, the Metropolitan Police said.

A section 60 order - giving officers stronger stop and search powers - is in place in parts of Haringey until 1pm on Monday.

It comes after two men were stabbed outside a butcher's shop in Tottenham on Sunday morning.

The men, aged 40 and 29, were found with knife wounds outside West Green Halal Meat and Groceries store but their injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Meanwhile, a man was left fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in Whitechapel, east London, on Saturday afternoon.

The 34-year-old remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Mohammed Alinoor Uddin, 36, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting an emergency worker.

He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday, while a 37-year-old man who was arrested over the incident has been released under investigation.

Elsewhere in the city, a man thought to be in his early 20s was stabbed several times at Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd's Bush on Saturday evening.

His injuries are not life-threatening, the force said.

It comes days after two teenagers were stabbed to death within hours of each other in the capital.

Baptista Adjei, 15, was attacked on or after getting off a bus which stopped near to Stratford Shopping Centre on Thursday afternoon.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with his murder and will appear at Stratford Youth Court on Monday.

Around five hours after Baptista's death, an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in a separate incident in Camberwell, south London.
