As Theresa May tackled one of the most important speeches of her political career, a P45 was handed to her by comedian Simon Brodkin.
But what is a P45?
:: You get sent a P45 form whenever you finish a job - whether you are sacked, resign, retire or simply come to the end of your contract.
:: There are four parts to the document: one gets sent to the tax man, you hand two to your next employer and you keep one copy for yourself.
:: As well as employer and employee details and the date of your final day of employment, the certificate shows how much tax you've paid on your salary in that tax year.
:: Employers have to send a P45 to all leaving members of staff, and failure to do so can result in a fine.
The phrase "receiving your P45" is widely understood to mean you are no longer in a job.
