Tiger Woods has pleaded not guilty after being arrested in May for driving under the influence.
However, the golfing legend agreed to enter a special DUI (driving under the influence) programme for first-time offenders.
The plea deal allows participants to serve 12 months on probation with special conditions.
The 41-year-old was found asleep in his Mercedes while under the influence of a prescription painkiller and an anti-insomnia drug.
There was no alcohol in his system.
Dash-cam footage showed Woods to be unsteady on his feet, disorientated and slurring his words during a roadside sobriety test.
He told officers he had taken Vicodin and Xanax.
Woods also appeared to think he was in California, even though he was in Florida, and could not explain why he had two flat tyres and damage to his front and back bumpers.
He will spend a year on probation, pay a $250 (£193) fine and court costs, attend DUI school, perform 50 hours of community service and attend a workshop where victims of impaired drivers explain how their lives have been damaged.
The Palm Beach Assistant State Attorney, Adrienne Ellis, said Woods was "not being treated any different than anyone else".
The golfer's lawyer, Douglas Duncan, entered the plea on his behalf and Woods did not appear in court.
