Two men have been arrested over alleged racist abuse at an FA Cup qualifier on Saturday.

Haringey Borough defender Coby Rowe was abused and goalkeeper Valery Douglas Pajetat was spat at and had missiles thrown at him, said the club's manager.

Players from both Haringey and Yeovil Town walked off the pitch at Haringey's Coles Park Stadium in the 64th minute and the match was abandoned.

Two suspects, 23 and 26, were arrested in Chard and Yeovil on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault, Metropolitan Police said.

Both are in custody at a police station in Somerset.

Scotland Yard said its officers were leading the investigation, with help from Avon and Somerset Police.

The FA said it was "deeply concerned" and is looking into the allegations "as a matter of urgency".

Both clubs have said they will cooperate with an FA investigation.

The alleged incident happened just five days after England's Euro 2020 qualifier in Bulgaria was stopped twice as fans were warned about racist behaviour.
