The World Stone Skimming Championships are set to return to Scotland this autumn after being put on ice throughout the pandemic.
The Hebridean isle of Easdale will once again welcome competitors from across the globe after COVID put a halt to the festivities in 2020.
The competition, first held in 1983, takes place within a flooded 19th-century slate quarry.
Easdale is one of the Slate Islands in the Firth of Lorn where stone was quarried for roofing slate, which was said to have helped build major cities of the British Empire. The last slate was cut in the 1950s.
Dr Kyle Mathews, a member of the organising committee, told Sky News: "We are really excited to get the championship back up and running and are looking forward to once more enjoying the spectacle of elite stone skimmers doing what they do best.
"Golf may have its masters, but stone skimming has Easdale."

The championships are open to all ages and abilities.
Each competitor is allowed three skims, and their stones must bounce at least twice. The person who skims their stone the furthest distance before it sinks is crowned winner.
The championships will take place on 24 September and will be restricted to 350 entrants.
Dr Mathews added: "Anyone wishing to get involved in the event, please get in touch."
