Volcano erupts in Iceland following overnight evacuation
The Icelandic Meteorological Office has said "lava is flowing a few hundred metres north" of the town of Grendavik, which was evacuated overnight amid fears of an eruption.

Based on flow models, it could take the lava a few hours to reach Grindavik if it continues to move in its current direction - according to an Icelandic Meteorological Office spokesperson.
