Alex travels the world covering the most important stories - many in the most war-torn places.
One of Sky's founding journalists, she has previously been based in Delhi, Johannesburg and the UAE.
Her reporting has seen her detained, abducted, interrogated, facing live bullets, tear gas, IEDs and shelling.
Alex was the first correspondent to independently get first-hand evidence of the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya, now before the International Criminal Court.
She was first to broadcast live from Tripoli's Green Square as rebel forces took over Libya's capital.
Alex is an unprecedented five times winner of the RTS Journalist of the Year.
She has also won four BAFTAs and five international Emmys, the James Cameron award for outstanding international journalism and moral integrity and the Charles Wheeler award for outstanding contribution to broadcast journalism.
She is Patron of the NCTJ and holds two honorary doctorates from UAL and Solent University for services to journalism.
