Who's still stuck in 2023 - and where's the last place to enter the New Year?

While Asia, Africa and Europe are already in 2024, the big moment is still to come for a large chunk of the globe - including South America, North America and Canada.

Here's when some key cities celebrate (UK time):

Rio, Santiago and Buenos Aires - 3am

New York, Toronto, Washington, Bogota - 5am

Mexico City, Chicago, Houston - 6am

LA, Vancouver and San Francisco - 8am

Honolulu (Hawaii) - 10am

And spare a thought for some of the last inhabited places to ring in 2024 - such as American Samoa and the Midway Islands in the Pacific Ocean. They have to wait until 11am.

Uninhabited Baker Island and Howland Island are among the last places to see 2024, an hour later - at noon UK time.
